  • Martingale

A betting/trading tactic where the person doubles their initial bet/entry price after suffering each loss. This way, one successful bet/order would recover the loss. This practice, while sound in theory, has one significant flaw. A long enough losing streak may lead to losing all available money. Thus, due to the exponential attributes of the bet, an infinite amount of money may be required to get to the fabled 100% success rate.
